- NSU Shark Research prominently featured in PBS Documentary
In the premiere episode, "Tracking Tigers," the Changing Seas crew works with scientists from Nova Southeastern University's Guy Harvey Research Institute. Experts use satellite tags and DNA forensic tools to better understand migrations of the magnificent tiger shark and also investigate the impacts of the world's shark fin trade.

The Telly Awards has named Nova Southeastern University's (NSU) Dateline Health as an award winner in the 33rd Annual Telly Awards for its piece on spinal surgery options. The University was selected among the nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.

NSU Oceanographic Center graduate student Jenny Fenton is analyzing the survival rates of juvenile swordfish caught by fishermen using rod and reel and buoy gear. Her research is the first study of its kind.
- HPD Chancellor to be Honored by American Cancer Society
Several individuals will be honored at the Gala. One of them is Fred Lippman, R.Ph., Ed.D., chancellor of Nova Southeastern University's (NSU) Health Professions Division and former member of the Florida House of Representatives. Lippman is being honored for his work as a state lawmaker, where he fought for legislation to protect children and senior citizens, and to improve Florida's health care system.

Nova Southeastern University (NSU) President and Chief Executive Officer George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., has announced that the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) recently granted accreditation without qualifications to NSU's Abraham S. Fischler School of Education.
